Richard Gard, director
During his 40-year career, Richard Gard has conducted many choirs and vocal ensembles, studio and stage back-up vocals, operas, musicals, concert bands, orchestras and chamber ensembles performing in Europe, Australia and throughout the United States, including Carnegie Hall, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Arenas, Hollywood Bowl, and Disneyland. Richard is also Music Director and conductor for the New Haven Ballet Orchestra.
Richard is a long-time member of the faculty at the Yale School of Music, and Director of Undergraduate and Graduate Music Lessons for the University. He is also the Director of Music at Saint Thomas More Chapel where he conducts several vocal and chamber ensembles. Richard is the founding director of the Center for Music and Liturgy, now developing the Cloud Hymnal, a free online music and digital worship resource.
Richard is a Co-Inventor on patents for audio analysis and digital education interfaces in his position as Chief Academic Officer for Music Prodigy Corporation. He holds two Masters degrees and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Yale University.
